I just saw the latest PC Quest.
A few pages into it, it has the following page title:
21 utilities for the millenium.
I would have thought that a computer magazine would know that the
start of the third millenium is still more than 12.5 months away.
Makes you wonder.
In another article, they also mention hacker, cracker and network break
ins in a proximity less than in this mail. I do not think the hacker
community would like that at all.
CHIP had a nice article on how to be a hacker (ESR) whacked from his page
at tuxedo no doubt. (Did ya'll take his permission guys? :)
I've got a copy of it up on my company's intranet. I think everyone
should read the hacker-faq.
Eric's other articles are also excellent reads. Especially his series on
the open source movement - `The Cathedral and the Bazaar', `Homesteading
the Noosphere' and `The Magic Cauldron'
Check them at http://www.tuxedo.org/
Also included here is the jargon file.
Go forth and spread the word.
