lxdoom isn't the official DOOM though. It's a clone.

id Software did release their Linux doom sources though. It was on a PCQ
CD around the time Quake 2 came out (id always releases source to two
games earlier. Wolf source was released when Quake came out, Doom with
Quake II, and now Quake 1 with Quake III).
