You bet. The first time I assembled a machine for myself, I connected the
harddisk to the secondary IDE port (cause the labelling on the motherboard
was obscured by the port). Obviously it gave me a hdd not found error (I
had turned off auto detect for secondary hdd's)
Got it figured out in about 5 minutes. I still have the same machine -
Pentium 133 with 48MB RAM.
Runs pretty fast too.
