Himanshu I can't agree more with the mail posted by Philip (below). I would
be wrong to give you 1/2 info on just the commands etc...
Re-compiling the kernel can be quite daunting if you do not understand  the
kernel structure properly. The commands are simple... but the process ain't.
When re-compiling you have to make sure that you have included everthing
else you will have a broken kernel that doesn't work.

One word of advice... do not replace your old kernel... simply add a new
image to Lilo. Also do not replace your old modules... back them up
properly.
So if your new kernel doesn't would you can get back easily.

Get back to me after you have got the req. info & have read & understood the
kernel architecture & I will be glad to help.

BTW: if you have a slower machine ... be prepared for a long break. It takes
~ 25 mins (totally)  on a 350 AMD.
