Neither do we, but read on.

This is not a problem. as you can see, I'm replying to this means I have
received it.

That's my problem. I can't use the mail server of my isp as the smart
host because I use a mail proxy in between me and the msp. My proxy
machine is proxy.tspl.loc but that doesn't matter because it
doesn't change any lines in the mail, just forwards it (line by line) to
ns.gcol.com So my mail appears to come from denthor.tspl.loc (my local
mail server and linux box). This is not acceptable to vsnl. Yahoo
accepts mail from here, egroups accepts mail from here, many servers
accept mail from here, but till today, I have tried various combinations,
but I just cannot get my mail through to vsnl.

I've tried giasbma.vsnl.net.in, I've tried bom2.vsnl.net.in, I've tried
yahoo.com. Each time my users' email addresses change to
[EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] which is
a bad thing. I would prefer it to go as
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

But the from: field needs to change too. if I send to ilug-bom, i don't
want to put a reply to line cause i want ilug-bom tp write that. even
then, some mua's don't honor the reply-to and reply to the from: address
(in total violation of the rfc). Outlook Express is one such violator.

Not very different, but I hope this mail clarifies my position atleast.

And why did yo send this mail twice? Withing 4 minutes of each other,
with the second one missing a single blank line at the top.
