For network install you should have typed out
./soffice /net
Login as your normal user and run the setup file soffice, you'll get the
user installtion screen.
The accompanying setup.pdf file lists all this.
You can uninstall star office and reinstall with network option by
re-running the setup script.
Star office tutorials are available at www.sun.com
daemons can be started or stopped in Redhat by logging in as root
type setup
go to the system services section and select/deselect the appropriate
services.
The universal method, however, is to edit your /etc/inittab file and
commenting out the services you dont' want.
the color problem is probably a video card thing. maybe the video card
driver has got a few bugs... can't help you here.
font size can be changed using the desktop config tool with gnome/kde.
