Thanx Philip,
But I have another problem. I have earlier stated that
we have 100+ users on our LAN (Switch based) and when
I introduced Linux Proxy in the Network, users are
very happy about the performance because of CACHING of
Squid. If I go by your suggestion (ipchains,
probably), then I feel there will be no caching & it
will be simply IP forwarding. Which means that every
browsing request will be served from the Net in
absence of any HTTP Proxy. And we have 100+ users
!!!. I am in a fix now. I have already demonstrated
the power of Linux in the existing environment with
the existing resources. Now if every packet travels
to/fro the Net, then it is going to be as slow as the
earlier Windows based Proxy.
What do I do now?
