It will deter people. What will also happen is that people will start
*expecting* services from the LUG. Situtaions like "damn I get no info
from the lug why should i pay x.x amount khalipili " (as we say in mumbai
slang).

A fee for joining is defn not a good idea..IMHO , It will be a sad day if

too? Come on sagar, I really don't think anybody on the lug can devote
full time to the LUG and it is defn not fair on our part to expect
nagarjuna (and the other CORE members whose names I do not know) to do all
the work!!!

Banglore is total diff ball game. Its a city whose non-techie to techie
ratio is almost zero , unlike bby where the ratio is just near infinity. I
don't think bby has reached that level of linux awareness as b'lore yet .
