Have a look at these characters: 8# 8 8 8 8 8# 8 8H+.(>%2Z2. -.(o._+>ZH+> .*.) (These are not all of them) Sometimes, when I connect to VSNL (through minicom), I get these characters, and then there is nothing I can do. Simply hanging up and redialling does not help. I have to quit minicom and then restart it. Any ideas? Also, I can initialise the modem using minicom (Alt+M), but if I try to type anything with the keyboard (even AT), it shows up as some weird characters. It is as though some bit has been set for the console, and whatever I type has this bit set. Philip -- Equal bytes for women.
