He was the first to develop the kernel called Linux. We hackers give credit
where it is due. And no, no one says that Linus /Torvalds/ is the only one who
developed Linux. He merely leads the team that develops Linux, and this
leadership is granted because he does a good job. He could be said to be first
amongst equals.
Also take a look at the CREDITS file please. The names of the
developers are listed in it.
