AFAIK there exist good s/w for amature and profetional
astronomers on Linux.

the right client for pentium class m/c is
setiathome-2.4.i686-pc-linux-gnu-gnulibc2.1.tar
at least it works on my Cyrix 233.

I have completed then 80 units in 2000 odd hrs.
