Dear Linuxers,
I have tried and tried over again but i haven't been able to configure
a local domain for my LINUX machine. I have been faced with the following
error:

"Linuxconf:Can't compute the domain name of this server
Linuxconf:It will not accept e-mail correctly.
Linuxconf:Please enter a fully qualified domain name.
Linuxconf:in the "Basic Host Information" Screen."

I have gone thru the following files:
        /etc/hosts
        /etc/named.conf
        /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
        /var/named/named.<IP_Subnet>
        /var/named/named.<LOCAL_DOMAINNAME>
        /etc/resolv.conf
        /etc/sysconfig/network

But the effort hasn't got any effect to the system. When i try to telnet to
the assigned
IP address e.g. :
# telnet 192.168.0.1
The above command says the network in unreachable.

I also want to configure the SQUID proxy server & IP Masqerading.
I really like it of anyone can get in touch with me for the same to get more
details.

Regards,
Jay Shah.
