I have used the method below quite often and without mishap. Read this on Linuxnewbie.com. Edit config.sys, autoexec.bat and msdos.sys to look like under. Copy vmlinuz and loadlin.exe from your Linux CD to the root directory. Reboot. For a temp fix just copy loadlin.exe and vmlinuz. and run: c:\loadlin c:\vmlinuz root=/dev/hdc1 ro This will get you to linux. Run linuxconf and goto the lilo options and follow instructions.
