Thats Clarkes Third law(as in  Arthur C Clarke) and its from 3001:The Last
Odessey. It reads:
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

There is a corollary:
Any technology which csan be distinguished from magic is insufficiently
advanced.
