Thrain is ... like Thrain Oakenshield, one of the Dwarves in 'Lord of Rings'
by J. R. R. Tolkien.
Somebody here mentioned trantor; Trantor is from the Second Foundation, the
third book of the Foundation Trilogy by Issac Asimov.
'Technology sufficiently advanced is no diffrent from magic' -- Asimov
(something like that -- don't remeber the exact words.. but the quote is
from an essay Asimov wrote about 'Fantasy' as genre of writing.)
I love Asmiov; while most SF purists seem to think that fantasy is for dumb
ppl, I love fantasy too. The best Fantasy author IMHO is Tolkien. The best
contemporary SF author (again IMHO) is Asimov. The best all time sf author
(once again IMHO) is H. G. Wells
Vishal.

In 1997, The Lord of the Rings trilogy was voted Book of the Century. Now
the world is about to experience this groundbreaking tale of good and evil
brought to life.
This long-awaited screen presentation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the
Rings trilogy will be shot exclusively in New Zealand over a period of 18
months, with post-production adding yet another year and a half. At three
years in the making, this will be the largest production ever to be mounted
in the Southern Hemisphere.
PPS: A sample of Tolkien
Three Rings for the Elven-Kings under the Sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-Lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne,
In the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie...
One Ring to rule them all.
One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them,
In the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
PPPS: Actualy .. Gollum is my personal favourite..... I dunno why I chose
Thrain.
PPPPS: Thrain is the name of my windows machine. my linux machine is called
'linux'.
that makes it easy to say 'telnet linux'.
