I gave a talk regarding a open source project at SNDT campus at Juhu.
Students seem to be interested doing a project on open source this summer.
I have suggested them the following project.
Project details briefly: The project is to develop a tutorial/learning
system for both content developers and learners. (analogous to netscape
browser/composer). The project will be executed using entirely open source
applications and inter-operable languages. So, we will be using Python, tk,
Zope, and markup languages (like html, dtml, vrml, xml etc). The developed
application will be an interactive system, usuable through a web brouser,
supported by Python, Jpython, Zope etc.
I would be very glad to have more people working. If any of you in the LUG
are interested please contact me. Any further queries send them off the
list.
Around first week of June, we will be meeting at SNDT to discuss the design
of the application, listing all the modules, allocating to different people
different modules, and also helping the people to get the resources.
