libyahoo2 already does all of this, so it's not the answer.  Perhaps you
need to analyse your network traffic using a packet analyser like
ethereal or something and then come up with an idea of what the
difference is.

Trillian guys still take it forward, right ? AFAIK despite attempts
from Y! to trump non-official clients someone does post a workaround.
I don't know if its indeed to libyahoo.

There's a whole load of functionality in mainline Y! thats not there
in libyahoo. These days I even find it difficult to add new users
under gaim. I have to do it in windows so it shows on serverlist. Then
pip back to linux. Bad but have no time to look into the problem. I
think libyahoo is falling back wrt official client.

Its always a catch up game. I know because I see some interesting
debates for samba for which I currently develop.
