M'be am missing the point here however, other than discussing mail
ettiquetes, flames and nitpicking, has anyone really gone around
throwing in few good ideas at all ?  Whether the OP deserves it is
another point. However won't it be a good idea to just pitch in and
have a free flowing discussion on technical stuff ?

Agreed that there's tons of material out there. However if you have
experience in anyone of them could anyone give the student a good
sizing/estimate ?  I don't say give him a project ready, however give
him pointers and a rough estimate on how much time it would take.

What beats me is the fact why this list has to be pendantic all the
time and help minimally in terms of technical ideas. Heck I guess most
people don't want to hack stuff anymore :)
