I think tht is very reasonable. There are no MPs or
Union ministers in Mumbai who would notice or care
about MTNL services, whereas in Delhi they are
practically dropping off the treetops. Of course they
may not care about MTNL either, but the pain if hey do
notice is much higher, hence the differential service
levels.

On the train two days back, I met an MTNL staffer who
was very loyal and vociferous about MTNL standards. He
told me that I should apply for a very cheap Garuda
CDMA, Rs 1,000 for two year rent free service and Rs
1,000 free talktime, excellent connectivity (he said).
Does anyone know whether it has built-in data
connectivity to compete with DSL?
