Its not just the dns but also the routes and their ppp / adsl 
equipment. Packets seemed to be looping between two vsnl routers. 
VSNL is still the monopoly for all internet traffic.
The strange part was no ping to several adsl modems but ssh worked. 
And even better no google etc from my location but ssh to thane and 
google etc are available. after sometime the status is reversed.
Best part: random download speeds of infinity - no i was not stoned - 
mozilla-firefox (10MB) downloaded in 3 secs. And the tarball is ok.
