What does your log say when you give the command "service named
restart"? /var/log/messages or
/var/log/syslog

It suddenly stops responding to the DNS queries once in 2-3 days.

bind service, it gives following error on 'service named restart':
error => rndc: recv failed: operation canceled
Moreover when I try 'service named status' there is no output and I
have to manually kill this command by using Ctrl+C
