Thanks folks for all your support and suggestions. For Rony and JTD : guys, i am aware of Blender and what it can do. and i am currently working towards learning that. But i am a professional Animator and i have a registered company with 16 people working with me. and we are all Maya professionals since the last 4 years. We already have Licensed copies of Maya with us which ships with Windows, MAC and Linux versions. So we are now looking for the best platform to run that. We have zeroed in on Open Suse and Mandriva. Can someone tell us how to convert RPM packages run on Ubuntu. because we really liked the distro.
