[Snip] Not always. When you do 'make install' as the last step of installation, most programs create files in /usr/local/*. E.g. the program binary may reside in /usr/local/bin and any shared libraries in /usr/local/lib. At least, they'll create a symlink in these places. So it's best to have a look around the /usr/local tree also. --- Tahir Hashmi (VSE, NCST) http://www.ncst.ernet.in/~tahir tahir AT ncst DOT ernet DOT in __________________________________ We, the rest of humanity, wish GNU luck and Godspeed 2,000,000,000 Web Pages--you only need 1.
