I have failed to understand the funny part, I confess. dict:: supplement: A quantity added; e.g. to make up for a deficiency A website (can) provide a (much) larger functionality - i.e. Searchable Archives, longer in depth articles with (more) media. It is not constrained by the newspapers limited print size.
