hmmm... i had segmentation fault with the halt binary i guess it was corrupted or something. so i reinstalled the rpm containing halt (SysVinit) I guess that xauth and xinit are corrupted (just a wild guess !!) pls try to reinstall XFree86 src rpm _______________________________________________ http://mm.ilug-bom.org.in/mailman/listinfo/linuxers
