It depends on which architecture u r looking for RHEL
3. but there are major difference between RHL 9/x86 &
RHEL 3/x86.

max. RAM Support by normal/smp kernel RHL9/4Gb 
RHEL3/16Gb. ( Can go more then that. ).

max. RAM support by bigmem enterprise kernel RHL9/32Gb
RHEL3/64Gb.

Maximum amount of virtual memory accessable per
program   RHL9/3Gb RHEL3/3.9Gb.

In CPU section its more or less identical but no of
cpu support varies RHL9/8 RHEL3/32 logical.

In storage disk too its more or less same.

RHL9 ( But no more support from Red Hat. )
