It (kernel 2.6.x defines disk geometry in a different way than what windows expect.

I have found a solution from the net, which worked on my machine (FC2 and win XP).
As a super user run sfdisk -d /dev/hda | sfdisk --no-reread -H255 /dev/hda where /dev/hda is your partition where windows is located.
