A big thank you to Dinesh here. My wish to own an AMD machine has come true.
(AMD Semp 2500+ with ASUS K8S-MX). Now 2 Linux distros have failed to install ..
FC4 which came with this month's Chip DVD just keeps rebooting. I see the
second line Reading initrd....
and kaboom
Next it was Debian 3.1- Now here I get a weird error that failed to mount
CDROM.
I have used the same drive to install the same distro on another machine. It is
booting from
the CD but a modprobe command fails look like.
In the end I was forced to put in Win2K and needless to say it installed fine
(maybe I need more Linux installs under my belt)
What's up with this ?
