........dns directly edit /etc/resolv.conf and add the 2 dns server entries. You will find it in your adsl modem's configuration. Then restart your system.........
I think even #service network restart
will also help, compared to system restart. After all, this is amongst powers of Linux OS, compared to MS technologies.
