try http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ . Also see http://www.mersenne.org/

BOINC actually isn't as flexible as d.net, connection-wise. It's still
better than being online 24x7.

Unless you have a super-gigahertz CPU, don't run BOINC's climate prediction.
Each work unit takes months.
