You're being ambiguous. Care to explain the problem more logically and technically? How do you connect the MTNL DSL router to your machine? What mode is the DSL router in? Do you have a different machine / different OS on the same machine for comparisons? Do you have a Ubuntu live cd? And for a moment stop using the fancy GUI tools if you want to troubleshoot this.
