in kubuntu using "sudo -i pppoeconf" command
by filling a username,password field and other fields
i am suggesting to to connect router by usb its very easy there are
drivers already installed  for usb dsl support you need not worry just
connect router via usb it will work perfect but if you connect via
ethernet if your card detects it and drivers are already installed
then no problem
i think usb router is very simple
