Put this in a file called ~/.emacs

(cua-mode t)                                      ;; Column editing mode.
(setq cua-enable-cua-keys t)               ;; What you want.

Emacs should load that file automatically.  If you're already running an
Emacs
session and don't want to quit, just `M-x load-file RET ~/.emacs'.

Now, I know why you want the usual Cut and Paste keys.  I'd, however,
prefer the Emacs way of doing things.
