It is possible that the userid/password for your Dad's setup may have 
been changed on the YouTelecom side or your Dad's system may be b0rked.

I have installed openSUSE 11.1 at a local baniya shop (ISP - YouTelecom.  
The installer detected the cable modem connection; prompted me for the  
userid/password and started working w/o any hitch.
