If you are the copyright holder of the code, there is nothing stopping
you from changing the license. I don't see why the above scenario is a
"mistake" (unless you are talking of "oh shit! I shouldn't have
allowed the world to see my source code").

Once again, GPL's restrictions are on *distribution* - not on writing
code, not on using code.
