Hi Richard, I feel bad for how I communicated. After reflection and research, I realize that I should not have questioned your understanding on this topic. The more I read about the linux packet interface and DSA drivers, the more foolish I feel. My assertions about directly being a MAC client were not correct. It is me who has had the misunderstanding all along. I want to apologize for being argumentative and wasting yours and everyone else's time by re-hashing this topic, when it has already been discussed several times over. Having dealt with too much bare metal software I wrongly assumed that linux wouldn't have such nicely designed network abstractions. I made incorrect assumptions about the way the linux packet interface was implemented. I can appreciate your position on this matter. I'm sorry. Dylan
