Hi,
currently ptp4l disables IP_MULTICAST_LOOP, so sockets on the same host can not receive ptp4l traffic.
On the same host its only possible to use the lo interface, but then messages are not distributed to other hosts in the network.
In my use case I want to receive ptp msgs on the same host and also on other network hosts.
For example currently it is not possible to sync a gstreamer ptp clock with a ptp4l master on the same host.
