I upgraded to the Hitachi 60GB 7200RPM drive (which I believe is 9.5mm) and it was a piece of cake. The hardest part, which wasn't really that hard was taking the special connector off the original drive. That and finding a good USB enclosure to make the old drive and external HD. If you're looking for 100GB and fast, Hitachi has since released a 100GB 7200 RPM drive that's a little over $200...if it's anything like the 60GB (which I hear it is) it will eliminate a lot of lag time. I think it's called the 7K100...you can probably get the PATA model, which is probably a little cheaper than the SATA model that our laptop probably cannot fully utilize (someone correct me if I'm wrong). http://pcworld.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=12462194/prsrt=1 If anyone has experience with the 100GB I'm interested in hearing about it...I'm getting a tablet in a few months and I'm considering getting the 100GB for it... _______________________________________________ LinuxR3000 mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pcxperience.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linuxr3000 Wiki at http://prinsig.se/weekee/
