Thanks!!!
I just got it working on my R3000Z (32-bit version) and I finally got the missing link that prevented it from working before with FC5:

- Download firmware from hp.com
- It's an EXE file but it sorta runs with wine and creates a bunch of files in ~/.wine/drive_c/SWSetup/SP30379A
- Installed bcm43xx-fwcutter (It's now in Fedora Extras for FC5)
- Ran "bcm43xx-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware bcmwl5.sys"
- unloaded ndiswrapper

- modprobe bcm43xx
- Set key on eth1, "ifconfig eth1 up" and dchclient eth1

It works!!!

The trick is that the interface needs to be marked up for it to associate with an access point.  This is not the case with ndiswrapper but is with this driver.

Be sure to read the docs in /usr/share/doc/bcm43xx-fwcutter-004 if you're using Fedora.

Are you using the bcm43xx driver?

Yes.

If so, how did you get it working?

Don't fully remember.  Here are some instructions:

This seems to match my recollections ...
