I think Moore's Law is here and has been for some time for this idea. 
Many companies, including Arturia, Softube, and NI, are already building 
many of their software products in just this way. Unfortunately for us, 
they're companies, and they keep their technology locked up nice and 
tight (not that I have an issue with that). I would like to make a 
library that's freely available.

Of course, I doubt Arturia, et al, are doing perfect component by 
component modeling, and are simplifying here and there for the sake of 
CPU. There's no reason why my library couldn't be streamlined as well 
for its task (audio synthesis and processing), other than, of course, my 
own competence. :-D

I fear I'm biting off more than I can chew, but the nice thing about a 
library project like this is that I can start off small and build up.
