BTW, a nice trick for everyone, including me, that normally use other
languages than English on our machines is to temporarily change the language
setting when running a command that spit out errors. E.g.:

$> LANG=C make

This default the language to English while running 'make' and don't require
you to install any extra mapping or localization files.
