Yeah, because you also have gigtools from your distribution still installed. I
wonder how you managed that, as you already removed libgig6. Did you use dpkg
directly to remove libgig6? "apt-get remove libgig6" would have
removed "gigtools" as well.
apt-get remove gigtools
should do it.
