I did some very frustrating bug hunting on an sfz file that was included in a free mellotrone library.. I noticed a checkbox called "add byte order mark" in kwrite was checked in the file but wasn't in my other .sfz's, so I unchecked it and everything worked as expected.. I honestly do not know what these "BOM"s are or what they are good for but they seem to break sfz files, it loads and plays(this is what made it so insanely frustrating), but at least the opcodes ampeg_attack and ampeg_release didn't work.
