No problem I was just being funny (or attempting to be)

That's ok, Ann. We can't all be funny all the time.

(Since losing one of our "expert level" Linux users to pick on, we are always on the look out for new humor targets. And since you're a faceless listserv user, you'll do!)

In all seriousness, we hope that you can make our next meeting. We have a good group, and the vast majority of us know each other in person and/or work together (hence the reason for our humor at times). Interestingly, we have quite a few users who live in other states and lurk.

As you've probably see, we enjoy helping newbies with Linux, as well as some of the off-the-wall things people here are doing with open source. Paul Saenz once melted some ice with hot temperature emanating from his Ubuntu laptop, and rumor has it that DK showed RMS how to 'apt-get install' himself a clue. Having several GIS-types from places like ESRI, some of our discussions are often related to maps. But overall, I think that you'll find that people here tend to be fairly accessible and eager to share their experiences with fellow list members.

(Just please, whatever you do...do NOT feed the "I amz a expurt" troll, no matter how much he tries to dazzle you with big words and acronyms.)
