OK - I have have found a Mini-ITX mobo with an Atom CPU that can be outfitted with 2 NIC's and would seem to be able to run with a very low-noise fan inside a 1U rack. I'll keep researching and send a follow-up e-mail once I have the parts list put together. I may bring the whole thing to a future LUG meeting if/when I get it assembled & working.
