I feel a bit like I'm yelling "fire" in a crowded theater, but I think
it's important. I'm on hold right now with PayPal; I can't even
get to their security department; I get to a lady who puts me on hold
while she checks.

After I entered my password, when I reached the "five seconds" screen, I
got a popup from my browser (definitely from my browser); paypal was
presenting me with an unknown cert error.

The cert is _self-signed_ and is in the name of:

*.geo-trinity.com

When I do a whois on geo-trinity.com I get that it's owned by eBay. But
of course that doesn't prove anything.

Why is there a self-signed cert on the page? No one seems to know. The
lady assured me she'll contact me today when she can tell me more.

I hope so.

But I no longer trust PayPal. Do you?
