I would not say we are poking fun of others in the same sense of a
school bully who is actually trying to hurt someones feelings. Its
just playful jabber. Someone is perusing Linux while maintaining a
hotmail account is good banter. Like catching a vegetarian eating a
steak.

Written word is not as easily communicated as spoken word. The tone in
email is misinterpreted more often then it is not. In fact I would say
that misunderstood tone as opposed to the intended tone and actual
message is more likely to be the cause of most flame wars.

Perhaps since you have yet to meet many of us this comes off more as
rude then the way it is intended. However it could be that were a
pretty tight bunch and we tend to speak more liberally on the mailing
list then formal. This mailing list is only one avenue of
communication. I recall DK and I helping Paul out the other night over
IRC with his dual boot issue. As well we discuss thing over Linkedin,
Twitter, and instant message. Were all over the place.
