I have a 1000 and my key repeat issue was resolved when I upgraded to 9.04.

The mouse is a little large. I often click, highlight text, or scroll on
accident. I've become used to properly raising my hands off the computer to
eliminate this (I suppose this is the correct ergonomic
position...whatever).

Key remapping is required...poor placement, Asus.

Battery life is great. I use it when I ride metrolink (1.5 to 2.0 hr
commute each way, 3x a week). If you're expecting this machine to be more,
don't. Netbooks are useful in certain situations, but if I did not ride the
train I would not own the 1000.

I would not get anything smaller than a 10.1. Even a keyboard that is 10%
smaller than a normal one will have you fumbling.
