I've spent the last few days looking at tablet+linux combinations,
specifically compatibility+price+power. I figured I would start a
thread talking about Linux tablets, my experiences and hopefully some
of yours. My interest in tablets is in part due to what came out of
CES, however, is mostly due to the advantages tablets give students in
classrooms i.e., taking notes, easy book access, board shots with
onboard cam etc....

I have found this page useful in finding Linux compatibility information:
http://tuxmobil.org/tablet_unix.html
A list of tablets, how to install or compatibility issues with certain
makes or models.

I am currently looking at the following machines:
Lenovo X41,X60,X61, x200: x200 is the only one Im not sure about.
The X41 works nicely, the X60/x61 requires tweaking.
HP Tc1100, Tc4400: Tc4400 requires a bit of tweaking, but is suppose
to work. the Tc1100 is old but is suppose to work well with Linux.
Motion: LE1700. Still looking into this one, lots of tweaking
required. Very cool nonetheless.
Dell: XT. Almost every works or will work. Minor tweaks required.
Fujitsu: Hit and miss it seems, some works some don't.

I hope some with Linux+Tablet experience can add some insight and
possibly different models that are more compatible with Nix. I am
very interested in the applications people maybe using, or have seen.

No one has to respond to this thread but I will periodically be
updating this when I have new things to say.

Chris...
