FWIW, all of the GSPCA stuff was rolled into the kernel a couple of years ago; you shouldn't have to download and compile anything except possibly recompiling the kernel. I'm not familiar with how this is done in Ubuntu.
However, I've also dealt specifically with GSPCA cams before. You should be able to load this one from a kernel module that's already built in to the kernel; try searching for/loading module "gspca_sonixj". Again, if it's not already compiled, you'll have to recompile the kernel module somehow. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=381188 http://moinejf.free.fr/webcam.html Loren ________________________________ From: Manny <vector...@gmail.com> To: SoCal LUG Users List <linuxusers@socallinux.org> Sent: Sun, March 21, 2010 5:40:31 PM Subject: Re: [LinuxUsers] webcam driver It seems the script can't find the module to install it. Could be you need to give the full path when invoking the build script. See if it actually was created in the directory. If it did you can probably copy it over to the proper place manually. Make sure you give it the proper permissions. --Manny On Mar 21, 2010 4:56 PM, "Paul Saenz" <forensicneoph...@gmail.com> wrote: > >I've been reading this thread > >http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=885795 > > >On Sun, Mar 21, 2010 at 4:52 PM, Paul Saenz <forensicneoph...@gmail.com> wrote: >> >> I've been tryi... >_______________________________________________ >> >LinuxUsers mailing list >LinuxUsers@socallinux.org >http://socallinux.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linuxusers > >
